Sorry it's been so long since I've updated my
site, but there's been a lot going on:
- Finished my last full quarter of classes and
passed... I think. I managed to get just over the class average in my
Cell Biology class, which I was very happy about since it was full of
pre-med students. Man, they need a life! All study, no play.
- I had my first group meeting on Dec. 18th, and
it went well. I'd been sweating it a bit because it's such a big deal,
defending your research that you've been working on for the last year.
But 2 hours 15 minutes later it was over and I was pleased :)
- I'm heading home Dec. 21 to Vancouver to see my
family and friends. Unfortunately quite a few people will be away this
year. But if you're in town, we'll have a few beers and catch
up. I'll be around until Jan. 4.
- I now have 2 new office mates - Steve, our 1st
year Mat.Sci. student, and now Dave, one of our 1st year Chemistry
students. Now I have to show them the ropes.
- I've been promoted in the group. I am no
longer the liquid nitrogen bitch... I've given that honour to Steve (ha
ha). I am now the Toxic Waste Manager and the Hydration Officer.
I made that last title up because it sounds better than "the guy in
charge of the water cooler".
- Liz won't be coming back to Vancouver this year
because she's off gallivanting in Ghana with her mom. Lucky her.
- My finger's mostly healed now, just some
bruising underneath my nail. Here's a pic of the four of us who broke
fingers in the first 4 games. And yes, I am wearing safety glasses...
I was working.
